Chapter 4: Dragon Hunters Bonus Image
In the end, Piper came down safely. Rex got tied and landed amid a crowd of other horses and riders. He gave one last flex of his wings before they slowly disappeared back into the weird place they'd come from. Being the very stubborn horse he is, he then proceeded to flop down where he landed and refused to move. The rest of the group caught up within the next hour. Riley just shook his head when he saw Piper sitting on top of a now sleeping Rex. Cece and India jumped down and made sure she was alright. Lady North dismounted in a quieter fashion, taking care to keep Aconda's curious eyes away from Prime.
Ahead the Queen had called for a stop. Everyone set up their stuff for the night. The horses, all save Aconda, were led over to where Rex had curled up. Aconda was tied right beside Lady North's tent to prevent any wayward thieves. Flame curled up first and conked out in a few seconds. Next went Prime and Tink. Tink walked a ways off before finding a suitable resting place. Prime laid down between Rex and Flame.
Then came Cece. Unable to sleep on the -very- hard mystical rainbow bridge in space, she'd decided to share some treats with her horses. She stubbornly refused to try one of the sleeping bags. Instead she sat on Prime and fed him pieces of apples. None of the other horses even woke up. So, Prime ate about five apples on his own and split two with his mistress. Cece never did get up and fell asleep draped over her horse.
By the time morning hit, everyone was surprised by the turn out. At some point in the night, Aconda had wriggled her head free of her halter and gone to curl up with the other horses. All of the horses had gathered together to sleep on the bridge. Maybe it made them feel safer? Or maybe they were just after the few apples slices Cece still had clutched in one hand.
Aconda is trying to sneak on in dat Prime. Don't think we don't see you missy.
Rex's wings kinda dissipate into smoke when he doesn't want them. Shadow-mane and all that fun stuff.
